Something To Say

“Not speaking is not the same as not having something to say.”  The boy in this video can’t communicate with his own words but he clearly has something to say.  I am amazed at how often this is the case.  What a blessing technology can be in giving the voiceless a voice.  It’s an innate human need to be able to communicate your wants & needs, likes & dis-likes, and desires.  Many years ago I watched a documentary about a non-verbal autistic young adult who was successfully attending college.  She communicated solely by computer and I was shocked.  I wondered just how many people there were in this world who had something to say, but no way to communicate it. People who are locked away in a body that doesn’t work while having a mind that does.  It would be like experiencing everything by looking out a window but having no door.
